Laureate of the 20th edition of the “Polityka” award in science

Dr. hab. Katharina Boguslawski, prof. UMK, is one of the laureate of the 20th edition of the “Polityka” award in science.

Dr. hab. Katharina Boguslawski, prof. UMK, is affiliated with NCU in Toruń since 2015. She finished her Bachelor, Master, and Ph.D. studies at the ETH in Zurich. Afterwards, she was a postdoctoral fellow at McMaster University, Hamilton, in Canada. She has a diverse research profile working, for instance, on the development of new quantum chemical methods and the interpretation of complex electronic wave functions using concepts of quantum information theory. Furthermore, together with her research group and other researchers at NCU in Toruń, she is developing her own quantum chemical software package PyBEST (http://pybest.fizyka.umk.pl). Dr. hab. Katharina Boguslawski is the co-author of 33 peer-reviewed publications and 3 peer-reviewed book chapters. She has been granted several prestigious awards and fellowships, like an “Early postdoc mobility fellowship” from the Swiss National Science Foundation, a “Banting Post-doctoral Fellowship” from the Government of Canada, a “SONATA BIS” grant from NCN, a “Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action Individual Fellowship European Fellowship” (MSCA IF-EF) from the European Commission, a START stipend, and a scholarship of MNiSW for outstanding young scientists.
