On June 10, 2019, at the Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Informatics, we hosted Mr. Szymon Polinski (Fortinet Systems Engineer). During classes of Wireless Networks conducted by Dr. Mariusz Piwiński he carried out laboratories and the Fortinet Wireless Specialist certification exam for students taking part in the course. After successfully passing the exam confirming their skills in the configuration and management of wireless networks, this certificate was awarded to: Mateusz Ciesielski, Dawid Gruszczyński, Magdalena Reiwer and Hanna Szramowska. Congratulations!
Wireless networks is advanced training offered to our students for several years. Its key element are laboratories of the installation and configuration of wireless networks using controllers and access points provided by the FORTINET (14 pieces of two-band access points series 321E and 7 pieces S221E working with the FortiCloud and virtual WLAN controllers). The students participating in the classes have the opportunity to obtain the Fortinet Wireless Specialist certificate confirming their skills in the configuration and management of wireless networks. Fortinet is a global leader in the field of advanced cyber security and wireless networks technologies. The unique solution using WLAN controllers with virtual cell technology has been used for many years to provide wireless access to the employees and students of NCU. The Eduroam wireless network managed by UCI is one of the largest implementations of single-channel technology in Poland.
