From 6 to 9 October 2025, the N2D 2025 Conference (Nanophotonics and 2D Materials) will take place at the Institute of Physics of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, bringing together leading experts in the field of nanophotonics and two-dimensional materials.

The conference will open with a lecture by Prof. Eva Andrei (Rutgers University, USA), the discoverer of the fractional quantum Hall effect and the author of groundbreaking research on graphene. The event will feature distinguished scientists who nowadays set research directions and shape the development of this rapidly evolving field.

The conference will conclude with a lecture by Prof. Frank Koppens (ICFO, Barcelona), one of the most recognized researchers in nanophotonics and 2D materials. His talk will be delivered as part of the traditional Thursday Physics Colloquium of the NCU Institute of Physics.

Participation in the lectures is open to all – we warmly invite students, PhD candidates, academic staff, and all enthusiasts of modern physics and nanotechnology.

The organization of the event is made possible thanks to the support of sponsors, including Attocube, Busch, Neaspec, and Pfeiffer, funding from the Municipality of Toruń, as well as the Donostia International Physics Center and NCU’s Excellence Initiative – Research University (IDUB). The organizers acknowledge the kind hospitality of the Institute of Physics and the Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Informatics NCU. The Royal Society of Chemistry is the sponsor of the awards for the best poster presentations by young researchers.
