The course discusses issues related to terminology and network protocols, local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), the OSI (Open System Interconnection) model, wiring, Ethernet technology, IP addressing and standards used in computer networks. At the next stages of education, participants are introduced to issues concerning the advanced configuration of routers, routing protocols, configuration Ethernet switches, VLAN and WAN technologies. During the course, students complete a series of lab exercises using both real-world equipment and interactive tools. Participants who successfully complete exams receive a Cisco Network Academy certificate confirming course completion.
